On Saturday May 22, we attended Children’s Hospital 2nd annual Healthy Kid’s Day at the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia. The best part of the event was the fact it was free and offered a lot for the kids. The start time was 12 and we arrived a hour and a half after and found parking at no charge.
It was a great event in terms of the activities for kids, stations for kids to get balloons made in any shape, face painting, rock climbing, a moon bounce, an enclosed trampoline, a merry-go-around. The food provided for definitely health conscious there were bagged lunches with turkey/provolone sandwiches, yogurt, applesauce, and chips or the healthy bagged lunch that included string cheese, graham crackers, animal crackers, a fruit snack with apple slices and grapes. Tables were set-up with Honest Kids juice pouches, Frizz, bottled water, gatorade and sugar free tastykakes. A tent with Mexican, Jamaican, Greek and Chinese cuisine samples. The sea bass fish tacos with sweet potato puree was by far my favorite sample!
There was a lot of healthy information for parents on car seat safety, childproofing kits for the home, bike helmet giveaway for adults & kids, information on children & asthma, and a other giveaways.
A concert featuring Hip-Hop Harry and the Laura Berkner band. Unfortunately we did not get a chance to fully enjoy the concert as it was a torrential downpour toward the end of the event. The kids were able to enjoy the moon bounce and face painting. I definitely plan to attend next year!
