Single Mom Chronicles: Swap.com-Earn Cash By Consigning Your Kid’s Clothing

 SWAPANDEARN

The perfect way to de-clutter your closet in the NEW YEAR!

How to earn cash back with Swap.com

Swap.com is an online consignment.  For the cost of $11.90, you can order a shipping label and box or bag to ship items back to Swap.com.   I used the bag to ship back my son’s clothing because it allows me to send more items.  You can even print the label from your printer if you already have a box to ship back items.   After you have packed the items you can drop off at the nearest FEDEX store.

Once the items are received Swap.com will sort, categorize and photograph your items.  You receive an email that the items are available for you to price.  One new feature is that Swap.com will provide you with a suggested selling price for your items.  When I first started my account this was difficult for someone who is new to consigning clothing.

Another cool feature is once your items are listed you can share on FACEBOOK AND PINTEREST!!!!

Now if any items are rejected you have the option of donating to charity or paying the shipping to have them returned to your mailing address.    My last shipment contained rejected items and for $4.99 they were returned within a few days.

SwapReturnItems

My first year with Swap.com was in 2013 and I earned over $100.   To consistently earn cash I would suggest de-cluttering each season.    In addition to children’s clothing, women’s apparel, books, maternity apparel, toys&games, baby gear, decor, movies & music, and sports and outdoor gear.

Now, what happens if your items are not sold in 45 days or more.  Swap.com will buy through the Sure Sell or you can donate to charity.   If you select Sure Sell, Swap will guarantee up to 30% of item’s  average new retail value.   Now if you donate the items the proceeds minus the Swap selling fee will be donated to a charity of Swap’s  choice.
