This what my brain feels like on Sunday afternoon and evening.
I feel like the weekends just escape quickly after a round of activities from Saturday morning to Saturday night. For it to be 2 whole days off it is starting to feel like only 1 1/2 days off. On Sunday evening I can feel the anxiety building because I know in a few hours (or at least that is how it feels) the hideous alarm will sound at 5:30. The sound of an alarm at that hour make me cringe under the sheets.
The week is always hustle and bustle especially the morning routine. I am determined this week to be more prepared like this is a marathon. I was able to get all the laundry finished and managed to iron the kid’s uniforms for the week. Lunch is packed. Forms are signed. There is enough dinner for at least tomorrow and Tuesday. I am so proud with finally getting the kids to enjoy pasta with marinara sauce. They will never know there is a hearty helping of vegetables in every bite. The only thing I neglected to do from my list is pick up my dry cleaning.
Now our Monday morning should be stress free to some extent and enough time for a quick breakfast. Some of the helpful things for me is on the following list:
1)Have laundry finished before Saturday. What has helped me tremendously with reducing weekend laundry is to put a load in on Wednesday or Thursday evening. Once I get in from work I can put that load in the dryer and add a second load.
2)Finishing grocery shopping by Saturday morning or afternoon depending on our Saturday schedule.
3)Pack lunches at night, this is HUGE and saves so much TIME! Luckily my kids are not picky eaters so PB&J work for lunch.
By packing lunch at night and ironing the kid’s uniforms on Sunday for the weekend, we have gained at 40 extra minutes. It was really stressing me to get in the car with only 10 minutes to drive 1.1 miles. A change was so needed for my sanity and to eliminate late slips for the kids.
