It has been a moment since my last post in Tween Chronicles. Life is just moving at warp speed and I cannot keep up with a blogging schedule capture all of the events and challenges. It was June before I knew it and before I realized the day, it was graduation. Graduation, summer, camp and start of 7th grade. I have no idea where the time goes and with each passing year I question what is the right for my tween boy. It never dawned on me that tween boys require so much guidance and direction. On some days I really do not feel equip for the challenges of raising a tween boy in this sometimes scary world. How do you protect your children from this evolving universe? I wish I had a formula for that question and a clear solution. The challenges of shielding your tween from social media is in itself a full-time job. I love technology but there are days when I would like to toss the gadgets out of a window.
One shining moment from the beginning of the school year is having my tween join a soccer league. In spite of it being years since he played, he fell right in with the other tweens/teens. It proved you are never too old to revisit any idea! My tween was amazed at how the other tweens/teens were really supportive of one another. I was happy he saw a different perspective of his peers. Some of the past three years have shed a different light on forging friendships. Here’s to the success of soccer!
My next thought is considering a military academy. Stay tuned for those developments.
