If you know anything about me, extreme love of good music……Emeli I am an instant fan, this song is so beautiful. I heard this tonight on The Game
This is titled “Tranquility”
During my morning commute on Monday, I was listening to one of the local morning radio shows. Monday mornings are reserved for confessions, ****blank stare****** A woman(I’m being really nice) called in to say she was with someone’s husband while his wife was trying to contact him.
The caller reveled in this as she stated with pride of their 13 year relationship and he’s been married for 10 years. When asked if the wife knew she stated something like, she(the wife) has a feeling but can’t put her finger on it, end quote.
It amazes me how people can call into a radio station and air their dirty laundry, I just ask why? I guess people take “confessions are good for the soul” a bit too far. The caller was delighted with her situation and acted as if she was a “winner”. I was thinking, wow sharing someone’s husband gives you much to be proud of yet you have a reason to confess. I guess this is the new world we live in, share and share alike….putting the brakes on!
Is this a matter of not wanting more or just not having expectations or requirements? I am by no means trying to uncover the lack of standards or the need to want what others may appear to have. All I can say is, not to overuse a cliche “all that glitters is not gold” (shoutout to Trinidad James).
One thing I am happy with about myself is my ability to make my own happiness and dictate my own destiny. I do not yearn for anything possessed by someone else. My conclusion on the lifestyles of others is I have no clue on the blood, sweat and tears it took to be where they are. Personally I know the choices of this caller are definitely not the path I would elect to take. When it is all said and done, be careful what you wish for!
What I do know, This QUEEN wants MORE!
My two cents! #Winning
I just realized it has been almost 26 yrs since I entered college as a FRESHMAN. What would we do with a crystal ball? Is it best to live life for the day, week, month and year? If we could predict our futures would we make better choices or decisions? The unknown ……….If I countdown the from FRESHMAN year there has been college graduation, multiple jobs, living in different cities, marriage, children, divorce and the NEXT CHAPTER!
Tonight in the midst of a conversation I realized all the unexpected within those 26 years. The revelation is that all the unexpected in between prepares you for a glorious ending……..
If you follow Sanaa Lathan on Facebook you have seen her updated pictures with cast! I can’t wait.
The Best Man hit theaters in 1999. It was one of my favorite movies with some favorite key actors Taye Diggs, Morris Chestnut, Terrence Howard, Nia Long, Sanaa Lathan and Monica Calhoun. Well I’m a bit late on November 1, 2012 Universal Pictures released the start of production for the sequel, The Best Man Part 2(no release on the title) . Check out the details at Shadow and Act.
Malcolm Lee will direct the sequel and it is set to open in theaters November 15, 2013. There are no details on the cast lineup but let’s hope some of the original cast is preserved.
How can we forget how things ended with Shelby and Quentin in a rather compromising position? You have to wonder whether Robin and Harper ever walked down the aisle? Did Jordan find her Mr. Right(aka Harper)? Also what became of Candy(aka stripper) and Julian? How many kids does Lance and Mia have now? I will more than likely be in the theater to find out, a good reason for a girls night out!
