One of my favorite movies is “Something New” , the movie clearly shows how the main character never took the time to smell the roses or added a little color to her life. How good it feels when you take a leap, it is truly liberating!
My fitness journey started about 13 years ago with regular weekly visits to the gym and I even worked out while traveling. No granted this dedication was long before having children. I exercised through both pregnancies, more commitment on the second pregnancy. Then I returned to the gym to increase my cardio and strength training. My biggest issue with fitness is monotony as I get bored very quickly. In the past I tried yoga, which was not the right fit and then there was Pilates which I loved in terms of an all over body workout. I have to admit when I contemplated buying a Groupon for a pole fitness class at A Sensual You, it was somewhat unnerving. My perception of the class was so off the mark. The instructors are totally awesome as they make every student feel at ease regardless of your individual skill level. In addition to the pole fitness classes there are a variety of cardio classes to mix up your workout regime. I realize there are different impressions or perspectives on these classes. This is by far the best fitness workout I have ever enjoyed. My least favorite area to workout are any type of ab exercises(2 kids later). Each move focuses on working the core. A stronger core helps with so much and the more classes you take the stronger your body becomes. In a matter of weeks, I saw an amazing body transformation of the core, upper and lower body as well as more muscle mass.
The classes are a great confidence booster especially when you start to see the results. If you are game to try something new, grab your towel, water bottle and shorts and find a class in your area. In the beginning, I suggest doing the classes in bare feet and once you progress invest in a good quality shoe. I highly recommend the Pleasure brand and Amazon offers for great prices. You will not regret this fun workout!
