I have learned being a parent is one job that requires a full-time schedule, 365 days a year, no holiday pay, no sick time and you are expected to perform over and beyond without any experience. To say as a parent you wear many hats is an understatement, there are times when I feel like a chaffeur, cook, miracle worker, mediator, nurse, doctor, teacher, psychologist, disciplinarian, artist, hair stylist and the list goes on and on! I totally think it is healthy to enjoy mommytime to one’s self.
Don’t judge but my favorite time in the morning is when I drop off both kids at school and I can blast my radio as loud as I want on the ride to work….It’s like a tension relief, don’t judge! I often wonder why I stay up late but the stillness and quiet is when I do my best thinking and planning…There is no arguing to diffuse, no last minute nighttime requests, nothing to put away. My thoughts are clearer and I actually can hear myself think….Now don’t get me wrong there are rewards to motherhood but I will admit it is pretty enjoyable to make some time for myself! I often wonder if there was a salary how many 0’s would it include, WISHFUL THINKING I know!
For a healthy you, make sure you carve out time away from all the hustle and bustle of mommydom…Check into a hotel for the weekend, a day at the spa, schedule a mani/pedi and lunch(nothing like enjoying a meal in peace), picnic in the park, whatever you enjoy to escape for a moment…..ENJOY!
My next weekend away in the plans……Miami, ahhhhhhh
Being a good parent is not an easy one. Even though you gave all you’ve got, it is not enough. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Being a parent really need to handle lot of responsibilities. It is necessary for you to be flexible to give everything for your kids and spouse. I salute to all the responsible parents out there for being a nice and supporting parent.

It was a great post about parenting. I was very impressed with how you explained it. When I was a kid I always wanted to have a good time with my parents. So, I know how my children feel. I will do my best so that you can have good memories with me.
