In addition to laundry, grocery shopping is the 2nd least favorite household job. Typically my shopping trips to the grocery store are with kids in tow, which means it’s a rushed. If I’m lucky I don’t forget the most important items. I was a bit skeptical about trying a delivery service for groceries. However, when I saw the promotional code to save $20 on first order I was convinced to try the service. One of my friends @tomikabryant is now a loyal customer of the service so that was another reason to try it.
The only issue I had was my internet service was moving too slow to get my order in quickly. Once I was on the site it was easy to navigate I chose to shop by aisle. It is arranged just as a store so it’s like you are going up and down each aisle with a virtual shopping cart. One thing I did notice is the fact some brands and/or items are not available online. When I placed my order I noticed it gave me until 11:57 the next day to make any changes and/or additions. I also noticed that I can add peapod to my mobile so I have to investigate how that works. One tip I would offer is remember to add any promotional codes that you have and also if you clip coupons don’t forget to give those to the driver. You can also use your Giant bonus card and the site automatically deducts online coupons.
As a customer you can receive alerts for your order. I opted to have information text to my mobile phone. After you checkout you look at the delivery schedule and select the time that is best. I picked Friday evening between 7 -9. My first phone alert at 6:38 PM was to let me know I was the next one on the delivery schedule. The next alert was at 6:58 PM to inform me the driver had arrived.
I walked outside to let the driver know it was the right house and he addressed me by name, great customer service! It was nice to know that I didn’t have to lift a finger. Everything arrived except my bread which was out of stock and this was clearly indicated on my receipt. The driver explained everything on the recipt and indicated the fact I should call customer service with any questions or concerns. I would definitely try the service again it was stressfree, painless and no worries with kids running up and down any aisles. In the event an item is broken or not up to your standards they will attempt to correct immediately. Once the receipt was reviewed and I signed there is a spot for a tip. Everyone has there own rules on tipping but I always like to tip especially when it’s a service job. Peapod by Giant is on Twitter @peapoddelivers and FB page #PeaPod Delivers….
