When I find a great hotel I have to spread the word. Typically I will go to Expedia, Hotwire, Orbitz, etc to find great deals. My only requirement for a great hotel stay short term is it must be 4 star or higher. I had an opportunity to stay overnight at The Belvedere Hotel. I am a huge fan of boutique hotels vs. chains because the level of service is more personable. When I searched for a 4 star or higher on Expedia, I found The Belvedere Hotel and decided to call the hotel directly to book the reservation. Note to self, call the hotel direct because they offered me the same rate per night as Expedia. When I checked in it was for a standard room, I wasn’t satisfied so I asked for an upgrade to an Executive room. The room upgrade was ready immediately for an additional $50 a night. It was well worth the extra because the room offered a more sophisticated feel. I am all over rooms with king size beds. If you have a chance to visit NYC, I highly recommend The Belvedere Hotel….definitely worth 4 stars +…Oh, and I forgot the staff was very professional and courteous especially when I checked in and decided to upgrade my room. Although I didn’t dine in (we went to Harlem for food) the hotel has a restaurant, concierge, business center (internet access is additional cost) and within walking distance to nice restaurants. I would definitely visit again and again. It was a great stay, two thumbs up!
